very summer the Aspen Ice Garden in
Aspen, Colorado, hosts approximately
30 of the country’s leading art dealers for a
weekend of contemporary art. The boutique
art fair, Art Aspen, saw record attendance
in 2018 as visitors came out in droves to
peruse artwork dating from 1950 to today.
Along with the exhibitor booths, art lovers
are treated to an array of special events
and lectures that keep them up to date on
market trends.
This year’s fair will take place July 25 to
28, with an opening night preview on July
25 from 5 to 9 p.m. This preview allows visi-
tors the fi rst chance to see the show in its
entirety and make the fi rst purchases of the
weekend. Open to VIP ticketholders, the
party benefi ts The Art Base, which “fosters
creative expression in the visual arts for all
ages and abilities through education, exhibi-
tions and events.”
Among this year’s participating galleries
are Opera Gallery, Conde Contemporary,
Raven Gallery, Blue Gallery, Axiom
Contemporary, Sage Culture and Aspen Art
Gallery, to name a few.
Following the opening party on July 25,
all ticketholders can visit Art Aspen July 26
and 27 from noon to 7 p.m. and July 28 from
