Tomassetti tries to convey a respect
for the history of figurative art, while
presenting the subject in a contemporary
way. The artist says, “I use portraiture as
a means of connecting with my audience.
The men I paint can be seen as fully real-
ized people as opposed to archetypes or
allegorical figures and it’s that sense of
recognition, of familiarity, that I strive for.”
Boz Droca is a professional artist who is
updating European Grand Manner portrai-
ture to create an original and timeless workof art with every portrait. His pieces are
in art collections worldwide in the U.S.,
Europe, Japan and Australia. Droca’s work
is included in the collection of the Royal
family in Queen Elizabeth’s godson, HRH
Crown Prince Alexander and Princess
Katherine.
David Goatley studied painting at
London’s Camberwell School of Art before
embarking on an initial career in the city’s
advertising scene, which gave him a taste
for hard work, imaginative solutions and
the strong sense of design that makes his
paintings immediately recognizable. In 30
years as a full-time portrait painter he has
completed over 400 commissions. Each ofhis portraits is as distinct as the individuals
in them; they capture the personality and
life in his subjects with real feeling. He says,
“Nowhere is our story more eloquently
told than in the human face. Everybody
is unique and everyone deserves to have
their story told. Portraits are an affirmation
of the value of each and every one of us, a
record of the unique place each individual
occupies in the human story; they have
nothing to do with vanity.”
New York-based artist Ewa Zeller,
who was born in Poland, focuses on oil,
acrylic, pastel and watercolor. Her works
have been exhibited in New Jersey,
