UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS –

THE MUSICAL!

Matt has co-written the score for a
musical adaptation of classic 1970s
drama Upstairs Downstairs.

‘The next step is to bring it to the West End,’

he tells us. ‘It has taken me two years to

write the music with composer Stephen

Endelman, and it’s one of the projects I’m

most proud of in my life. The show was a

precursor to Downton

Abbey, and we’ve

added a new story

but kept original

characters like

Mrs Bridges and

Mr Hudson. It’s

a beautiful

project.’

A SEQUEL TO THE
DOCUMENTARY?
Fans are demanding
another instalment
of Bros: After the
Screaming Stops, but
the jury’s still out on
whether they will get one.
‘There’s been so much talk about a sequel,
which has gathered momentum, but it would
have to be an entirely different kind of film.
I don’t want a director
demanding fights between
me and Matt – you don’t plan
that stuff,’ says Luke,
now a successful actor.
Matt, on the other
hand, seems keener.
‘The film only touched

the tip of the iceberg of our
lives – we’ll definitely do
another one!’ he says.

NEW MUSIC
For the fans who care
about the songs, not the
scraps, Matt confirms that there will
be more music coming.
‘We’ve got a lot of stuff planned. There
are individual projects, and I’m doing a new
record, but also we
are going to put a new
album out as Bros,’
he says. Luke adds:
‘It’s new music that
inevitably breathes
blood into the veins
of the band.’
