espite the fact that she has given
most men in Weatherfield a test
drive, Maria Connor’s love life
is still stuck in first gear.
But could dishy doc Ali give it some va-va-
voom? When he inadvertently causes her
date do a runner, he calls round to her place
to apologise... and makes a move.
So keen is Maria to spice up her love life
that she has signed up to a dating app. But
when Audrey reveals she has set her up with
her three o’clock client, Bob, Maria

wonders if she’ll need it.
As the 3pm man walks in,
Maria pounces. But she’s
horrified when he says he’s
married, and mortified when
Audrey then reveals that the
real Bob cancelled.
It’s back to the app, and
Maria feels positive as she
embarks on her first date
with Ben – he’s hot! ‘But he
brings his mum along,’ says
Samia Longchambon, who plays
the unlucky-in-love crimper.
Date two isn’t any better; dinner at
the Bistro with Rex. Samia adds: ‘Maria
thinks he’s a Goth as he’s got a collar on,
but it turns out he likes dressing up as a
dog. Then Ali says, “Do you want a doggy
bag for your food?” and the poor guy legs it.’
Ali calls round to Maria’s flat with some
wine to apologise. After a few glasses, they
end up having a little dance... and a kiss.
Has Maria finally found her perfect man?
