● COMEDY / 10pm / C4

NEW

The comedy
written by and
starring stand-up comic
and panel-show regular
Roisin Conaty returns
for a second series. In
tonight’s opener, Marcella
(Conaty) passes her
driving test, but instead
of thanking her driving
instructor and moving on,
she decides not to tell him,
just so she can continue to
see him. Might that not
drive him round the bend,
Marcella? HHHLB

● DOCUMENTARY /
8pm / Yesterday

NEW

Was World War
Tworeally won
in the factories, rather
than on the battlefields,
sea or in the skies? That’s
exactly what historians are
arguing here, and in this
first episode, we look at
the aviation side of WWII.
How did Germany lose the
war, despite the Luftwaffe
being the largest and best
equipped air force in the
world in 1939? HHHHLB

Wild Bill

● DRAMA / 9pm / ITV

LAST ONE

It seemed like a mad idea

  • West Wing and former
Brat Pack actor Rob Lowe fighting crime
in Lincolnshire. But as this improbable-
    sounding series concludes entertainingly
this week, pressure is really mounting on
Chief Constable Bill Hixon to cut police
numbers at East Lincolnshire Police Force.
Bill’s got bigger fish to fry, though. He sets

about tracking down notorious hitman
Frank McGill after the bodies of five men
are found burning in a field, having been
shot in the head. When Bill realises that he
has even fewer allies in the force than
he thought, he decides that he’s going to
head off on a one-man mission in search
of the elusive Frank. Is Bill about to run
into danger? HHHHVW

The Supervet

● FACTUAL / 8pm / C4

LAST ONE

An hour at supervet Noel
Fitzpatrick’s clinic contains
more examples of the dramatic ‘paws’
(sorry) and high drama than a Casualty
cliffhanger! And tonight’s series closer
is no different. Rosco is a four-year-old
collie cross, who is a popular visitor to
local care homes – but he’s had to be

temporarily retired from his work because
of hip dysplasia. Can Noel relieve the
pooch’s pain at his state-of-the-art clinic
in Surrey and reunite Rosco with the
residents who dote on him? Also on the
treatment list tonight is a Siamese cat
who has multiple injuries after being hit
by a van. HHHHLB
