Far too good for lunchtime!

The BBC1 daytime series London Kills was far too good to be tucked
away in the TV schedules at lunchtimes – it was a brilliant murder
detective show, with the fantastic Hugo Speer heading the cast. I’m
pleased it was repeated later in the evening, but it could have been
slightly earlier than 11.50pm – which was way past my bedtime!

TV TURN-OFF

Catch-22
What a
complete
letdown this
C4 drama
wa s. We
tuned in as
a family, but
after 10 minutes
we were looking at each
other to see if we all felt the
same – and we did. It was
boring. You wasted your
time, George Clooney!
Mrs Joan Rowland, Morden

World class
I very much enjoyed the
Women’s World Cup and
the BBC’s coverage was
excellent. The majority
of matches were highly
entertaining, with some
insightful punditry from
the likes of Alex Scott,
Hope Solo and Sue Smith.
John Grant, Tollcross

Beats thrillers!
I love thrillers and soaps,
but my favourite show
of all time has to be
The Yorkshire Vet on
Channel 5. It always has
the most enjoyable and
heartwarming stories,
and wonderful people,
too. God bless them.
Irene Clarke, Woolstone
Terrific prelude
BBC1’s John McEnroe:
Still Rockin’ at 60 was
a terrific prelude to this
year’s Wimbledon. It was
a totally fascinating look
at a tennis legend.
David Evans, Walsall

Top boys
I gave up on BBC2’s To p
Gear after James May,
Jeremy Clarkson and
Richard Hammond left,
but new hosts Chris
Harris, Freddie Flintoff
and Paddy McGuinness
are ace – the banter is back!
Luke Russell, Wakefield

Fine ambassador
The endearing Tr e v o r
McDonald’s Indian Train
Adventure on ITV was
a fascinating insight into
India’s growing economy.

It was an honest, very
colourful, bizarre and
wonderful journey on the
subcontinent. Not only
that, but Sir Trevor is
a fine ambassador for
England in my opinion.
Mrs Diane Doona, Wilnecote

Power of Tower
The Looming Tower on
BBC2 was a riveting watch.
The entire cast delivered
full-on, no-holding-back
performances, especially
Jeff Daniels as FBI agent
John O’Neill. Excellent
and thought-provoking.
Mary Windsor, Mansfield

CAPRICORN (22 December-20 January)

LEO (23 July-22 August)
Your ruler, the Sun, opposes Jupiter on Sunday and

something new. That voice is trying to tell you more
work needs to be done before you take the plunge.
Call... 09058 170 403* Lotto No 10

VIRGO (23 August-22 September)

LIBRA (23 September-23 October)
This week the Sun and Moon focus on where you live. It’s
an excellent time to think about sharing your place, and

Call... 09058 170 405* Lotto No 47

SCORPIO (24 October-22 November)
Your emotions are quick to surface this week – which is
unlike you, as you usually prefer to keep the lid screwed
on tightly. But before you seek out the flamethrower, be

SAG IT TA R I US (23 November-21 December)
You’re a hair’s breadth from chucking everything in,

puzzle. Things are going to start making sense soon.
Call... 09058 170 407* Lotto No 8

ARIES (21 March-19 April)
You like being in charge, but it seems like somebody is
trying to elbow in on your circle. The best way to deal
with this is to help them get ahead and diffuse any
rivalry... The novelty value will soon tire for them!
Call... 09058 170 399* Lotto No 24

TAU RUS (20 April-20 May)
Venus opposes businesslike Saturn midweek, and
your social life might have to take a back seat while
you work out how you’re going to pay for it all! This
week gives you the courage to find good solutions.
Call... 09058 170 400* Lotto No 11

GEMINI (21 May-20 June)
Mercury’s still in retrograde and its chaotic effect on
communication continues. Check travel times, back
up your computer and carry a spare charger, but
communicating with your inner self creates serenity.
