workshopnow,wherethebody

restorationtookplace.

Herethecompletenewbackpanel

Timmadeisreadyforwelding.

Newvulcanisedrunningboards

weresourcedfromAmerica,but

youcanbettheydidn’tfittothe

wingsanythinglikethisuntilTim

gothishandsonthem.

That’stheonlybitoftheoriginal

pick-upbedthatwasretained,the

restwasre-madefromscratch,

apartfromthereproduction

stakepockets.

Everywheretheypokedthere

wasmorerepairworkrequired.

Ratherthanmakingapatchwork

quilt,Timoptedtoreplacelarger

sectionsastheendresultis

invariablybetter.

Notetheboxsectionaround

theperimeter.ThatwasTim’s

suggestionforadditionalrigidity.

Likewise,nonewdoorbottoms

here,completenewdoorskins

instead.Infact,thiswasoneof

thefirstjobsTimdidonthetruck

whenitreachedhim.

Everywhereyoulookthereare

trickdetails.Acoupleofbitsof

chainkeptthetailgateinplaceon

thefarm,butnotnow.

Well,atleasttheroofandthetop

ofthecowlisoriginal...

Wedidn’trealisethecabwasonthechassis

whenwefirstsawthispic.That’ssome
