upgraderatherthanrebuild.Namcofittedthe 350 /3 50 comboand
power-assistedhydraulicdisc/drumbrakesandRoyalKustomsfitteda
newsteeringboxandrebuilttherearaxlewitha3.54:1difftoimprove
motorwaydriving(Inowget26mphper1,000rpmintopgearonthe7.
x16CokerClassicreartyres).
IfittedloadsofDynamat,whichhascutdownthenoiseinsidethecar
dramatically,andnextyearplantofitaperformancecratemotorand
recessedfirewall(availableofftheshelffromtheStates)asroominthe
enginebayissomewhatrestricted.
Icurrentlydoaround3,000milesayearinthecar,weatherpermitting,
goingtoasmanyshowsaspossible.
Incidentally,IhavebeenreadingCustomCaronandoffsinceitfirst
cameout(wasit1970?)anditisasinterestingnowasithaseverbeen.
