The rusted metal was
removed at the bottom
of the boot lid aperture.

nickname for our Mini came from being

called after the RAF Lancaster, P-Popsie.

We made that trip four up with us in

front and our children in the back seat

with luggage piled all around in every

available space. Time passes and the kids

have grown but the Mini soldiers on.

I have very little in the way of

mechanical skills and am in awe of

what other people achieve. If it can't

be fi xed with cable ties and ga er tape
I am pretty much out of my depth! I
do however know when something is
wrong and like to get it sorted as I like
my cars to be on the button. Sadly, at

23 years old and despite much loving
care, the dreaded rust had reached
the point where something had to
be done. Trusty old Popsie had been
hibernating in the garage all winter »

“Of course the bubbles were simply

the surface of much deeper problems.”

The new metal being
welded into position.
