Riviera Run

T

he Cornish coast is a thing
of beauty but it looks even
better with over 400 Minis
lined up for a show. This was
the third year that the Riviera Run
has takine place at Pentewan Sands
Holiday Park near St Austell and the
event is getting bigger and better. The
unique seaside setting, and Cornish
Mini Club’s dedication to continuously
improve the event, meant that every
Mini fan attending over the early
May bank holiday weekend, 3-5 May,
was guaranteed a fantastic time.
There was so much going on
throughout the weekend. Friday
saw the run to Pentewan arrive in
plenty of time for the drive-in movie
showing of Top G un or a meet-up
with friends in your tent, caravan
or the excellent Seahorse Bar.
The Saturday was the fi rst of two
show days with Minis on display and
traders with an array of wares from
Mini parts to home-made local crafts
and jewellery. There was a rescue
display by the Fire Brigade, stereo and
exhaust sound-o s and then rocker
cover racing which was won by keen
young racer, Max McPhail. Queues
of Minis formed at AC Dodd’s Tech
Tent for a good tune-up. The evening
entertainment in the Seahorse Bar saw
some fantastic fancy dress from Mini
owners of all ages, including a tiny baby
dressed as a Hi-de-Hi Yellow Coat!
Sunday dawned with blue skies as
Minis began to line up in the show area »

You can see the sea as soon as you arrive at
Pentewan Sands Holiday Park. Aaand, relax!
