thatmountingbusheshaveworn

whentheyhavebeenrenewedand

theridequalityimproves.Thiscan

certainlybethecasewiththerear-most

V-shapedmountingbushesontheSeries

2XJ6.Theweightoftheengineandthe

loadofthesuspensionmeansthatthe

bushesremainsquashedinsitu,andit’s

onlywhenthatweightistakenaway,and

thesuspensionishangingdown,thatthe

stateofthesebushescanbeviewed.If

therubberhasbrokenoffeachmount,

thenweightandgravityareallthatis

holdingthemtogether.

ThemaingearboxmountontheXJ6

mayalsobreakintopiecesandremain

trappedinsitu–theonefeaturedhasa

majorpiecemissing.

RenewingthefrontsubframeandgearboxmountingbushesonaSeries2XJ6is

notajobtoundertakewithoutsomeheavy-dutygear,butit’sneverabadthing
