The PITT Graphite Pure leads are ideal for creating contrasts and
shading extended areas. These pencils offer unparalleled possibilities for
spontaneous expression, creating different effects based on the pressure
applied and grade of hardness. The PITT graphite crayons are an ideal and
very economical medium for working on very large sketches and areas.
Dark wide spaces, like black backgrounds, are
actually the quickest and easiest parts to complete.
Firstly, the focus points of the entire artwork are
masked off completely. Then I use cotton wool to rub
highly concentrated graphite powder into the open
surfaces. During the process, I sometimes use Krylon
re-workable fixative to protect finished sections from
smudging while I work on the rest of the piece. I also
use a sheet of glassine paper to protect the drawing
so that my skin doesn’t contaminate the paper with
oils. When the drawing is done, I seal it off with
multiple layers of dry medium fixative.

to my work and my career. Other than social media
platforms (which are mostly just an audience),
galleries, and especially my agent, put my work in
front of the eyes that really matter: the investors!
