This was an interesting challenge. The

reference contained colours that I don’t use

very often but I found it to be a pleasing

palette.

I have painted exclusively with Winsor & Newton’s paints for many year.
The colours are rich and the pigments are amazing. For this painting I also
used some colours from the Winton range which I think are perfectly honest
colours. From the Artist range I used amongst others: Cadmium Lemon,
Cadmium Yellow and Cobalt Blue. I find that the Artist range has a lot more
punch, but some of the series can be rather expensive. The equivalent
in Winton does a decent job, but if you can afford it - go ahead and spoil
yourself with the Artist range - you won’t regret it!
