try out intravenous
(iV) therapy – a
hydration treatment
administered through
a drip containing a mixture of vitamins,
minerals, electrolytes, amino acids and
antioxidants. in addition to tackling
fatigue, jet lag and correcting
your body’s hydration levels,
the drip also has an appeal to
skin-care lovers – some of the
treatments can make you look
more youthful and refreshed- needless to say, i was excited
to see what it was all about.
My nurse explained that REvIv
offers five treatments: Hydromax,
Ultraviv, Megaboost, vitaglo and
Royal Flush. But first I had to answer
a few questions regarding my medical
history – any allergies, chronic medication
or underlying conditions such as hypertension - so that a suitable treatment could be chosen
for me. Health test passed, it was time to sit
back and relax for the next 45 minutes as
I was hooked up to a litre bag of yellow.
fluid. I was going to have the Royal Flush:
a combination of Megaboost (a treatment of
high-dose vitamin C, antioxidants, minerals,
and electrolytes), Ultraviv (a recovery Iv
therapy for colds, flu, allergies, and even
hangovers) and vitaglow, which has a high
dose of glutathione and vitamin C for radiant
skin. The fluid entered my body through
a vein, so there was some
discomfort, but nothing that
I couldn’t handle.
Then came the second bag
of fluid, clear this time, which
contained the anti-ageing
ingredient glutathione. This Iv
is administered separately as the
less saline solution it’s mixed with,
the more effective it is. As the
nurse draped a blanket over me
to ward off a slight chill, she told me about
the concierge service on offer throughout

THE vERDICT
after the treatment, i didn’t
feel any different by the time
I got back to the office, but
around 30 minutes later a mild
headache had vanished, and at
5pm instead of dreading the
fact that i needed to hit the
gym, i was rather amped for
my workout. i struggle with
sleep usually, but i woke up
the next morning feeling
surprisingly energised.
Q starting at r999 for the
Hydromax and going up to
r2 999 for the royal flush,
it’s definitely not something
anyone can afford to do on a
whim. That said, the next time
you feel like booking a spa day
for some r&r, an iv treatment
may just do the trick.
