anyparents orcarers think young people are
spending too much time playing games. Now
that it’sthe summer holidays, you may have been
set screen-time limits to ensureyou don’t spend the
entirebreak indoors.
However,aBritish organisationcalled Internet
Matters, whichcampaigns to help people stay safe
online, hasasuggestion: that moreadults play
games with the young people they’relooking after.It
surveyed 2,000 parents in the UK, and found that

although 44% of them think that gaming together is
away to spend time asafamily,42% say that they
never play games with their children on any device.
“Weknow that parents whoregularly get involved
with their children’sactivities online arebetter placed
to lead them through some of the issues they may
face,” said the boss of Internet Matters, Carolyn
Bunting. “We’reencouraging parents to do something
that may well go against their natureand haveago
at gaming–get involved.”
