TRICKED OUT FOR FUN

The 45 Divergence can be tai-

lored for owners who like diving

or fi shing. A transom livewell

could serve as scuba-tank

stowage. Fish-box freezer plates

can be installed to keep the

catch cold, while additional rod

holders, including six built

into the transom, are a good idea

for fi shing from the platform.

Outriggers are also available.

PLEASING SEATING

Within the walkaround

deck layout is seating for 14

guests. There’s a curved

bow seat with a table, an over-

size lounger forward of the

console, and three bolstered

helm seats along with aft-facing

cockpit seating and a fold-down

transom bench seat. An electric

high-low, foldout, carbon-fi ber

table is centered in the cockpit.

cean alexander,

long known for building

ocean-crossing motor-

yachts, has launched its

fi rst center-console: the 45 Divergence.

¶ The builder leveraged its large-yacht

expertise to create this feature-fi lled

dayboat, which has port and starboard

bulwarks aft that fold down to create

balconies. This setup extends the 45’s

beam from 13 feet, 9 inches to 19 feet, 1

inch. With the bulwarks up, a patented

“door within the door” enables board-

ing from the sides. A wraparound swim

platform allows for boarding at the stern.

¶ The vessel’s razor-sharp lines and

sleek styling are from Evan K. Marshall,

a longtime collaborator on Ocean Alex-

ander’s larger models. The 45’s stepped

sheer, raked windshield and low-profi le

hardtop convey performance. ¶ Pow-

ered by quad 350 hp Mercury Verado

outboards, the 45 has a cruise speed of

28 knots at 4,500 rpm. At this speed, the

engines consume 61 gph, giving the boat

a 316-nautical-mile range. The 45 will

top out at just over 41 knots. Range: 237
