Q&A

e can hardly wait for the Teen
Moms (who are actually all now
in their early twenties), to return
to our screens for series six
because, as we know from the show’s history,
nothing is ever plain sailing with these girls!
And indeed a lot has happened since we
last saw them, including Amber Butler, mum
to four-year-old Brooklyn, revealing she is
pregnant again – her second baby with her ex
Steven Rankine. Amber, 22, is still battling with
Ste, 25, and even considered an abortion
because of their constant rows. But with the
pair’s second sprog due in just six weeks’
time, they might have to put their
differences aside once and for all.
Be prepared for plenty
of mummy drama as we
discuss babies, boys and
her beloved Brooklyn...

Hey Amber! Congrats on
your pregnancy. How are
you feeling?
Now I’m in the third trimester I’m
much better. The first and the second
I suffered really bad from morning
sickness. I also had a few emotional situations
I went through.
Like what?
I went through of a couple of threatened
miscarriages [bleeding which can result in
a miscarriage, but doesn’t always] and it was
emotional. It’s all fine now, but I could’ve lost
the baby. I didn’t want to leave the house and
I became depressed about it.
We’re glad everything is OK now. Was this
a planned pregnancy?
Not at all. As much as I hate to admit it,
it was a massive shock. We weren’t as
careful as we thought we were and at the
time our relationship was rocky. There was
no spark. I’ve always been against abortions,
but it was a route I was contemplating
because of mine and Ste’s circumstances.
But I could never do that.

Are you with Ste at
the moment?
No. We’re all over the
place. We’ve had certain
little arguments and he’s
not paid for a single thing
for the baby yet.
Can you see a future with him?
I gave him a second chance
and nothing’s changed and
nothing ever will change. He’s
very insulting and he’s not a nice
person, but he’s a great dad.
Is your firstborn Brooklyn excited
about being a big brother?
Yeah, he’s really excited.
He’s been helpful and
says, “Do you want a
drink, Mummy?” And he
brings me some water.
How sweet! What kind
of situations are we
going to see you in on
this series?
You’re going to start by
seeing me and Ste together,
but it obviously doesn’t quite pan
out for us. You’ll see some drama, but it’s
nothing major. You’ll also see the kiddies,
my journey throughout pregnancy and the
gender reveal.
Is filming the show
challenging?
It’s fun and it’s an
experience but, yeah,
it is challenging. It’s
hard work but I do
enjoy it and it’s a
massive part of my
life. I will miss it
when I’m not on
it any more.
