Car smashes


Andy postbox
A POSTBOX painted gold
to honour Andy Murray’s
2012 Olympics win has
been knocked over.
The box is on its side in
the tennis ace’s hometown
of Dunblane, Stirling.
It was hit by a Mercedes
in a “low-speed collision”.
Its driver was unhurt.
A Royal Mail spokes-
woman said it would “rein-
state it as soon as possible.”
Sir Andy, now 32, took
gold in the London Games’
men’s singles by beating
Roger Federer, a title he
defended at Rio 2016.

“I was such a different person since
being pregnant with Maddie. And I think
that was the beginning of us saving our
lives. We probably would
have died. We would have
gone crazy on the alcohol.”
She added: “I had to stop
drinking first. I am a heavy
drinker but I am not an
alcoholic. Mark would drink
so much it was worrying.”
Mark said: “Our drinking
would have rumbled on to
all sorts of destruction in
the relationship and I would
have died. Because you had
to stop, the fog was removed
and you could just see me
for what I was.”
Nadia said Mark stopping drinking
had helped to “curtail” her own intake.
She said: “We never open a bottle of
wine unless we have people around.”

she and her husband would be dead
from alcohol abuse.

she was expecting older

Nadia said she was
“emotionally and physi-
cally unwell” and “hadn’t
been dealing with grief ”
when she met TV
producer Mark around
four years after her first
husband Justin Mildwater
committed suicide in 1997.
“There was a lot of drink and a lot of
late nights,” she said.
Nadia was speaking to Mark, who is
now teetotal, in her podcast, How to
