IT’S NO DEAL Tierney all
set to remain with Celtic
CELTIC boss Neil Lennon
reckons he can hold on to
Scotland left-back Kieran
Tierney after fending off
Arsenal.
Gunners lodged two bids,
the second potentially
reaching £25million, but
Celtic stood firm. Now
Lennon intends to play
hard-ball with Napoli, who
also fancy Tierney.
Lennon said: “I’ve had no
information other than
there were two bids that
came in from Arsenal that
were rejected.
“We have no intention of
selling Kieran. He’s on a
long-term contract and we
want him to progress with
us. Our valuation of Kieran
wasn’t met. You will see
other transfers not going
through because valuations
haven’t been met. It’s not a
case of Arsenal being
disrespectful.
“They put a bid in that
they valued the player at.
“But on a long-term
contract, we’re in a very
strong position.”
Tierney could soon be
joined in the Parkhead
dressing room by Hapoel
Be’er Sheva defender
Hatem Abd Elhamed but
there will be no place for
Danny Simpson after the
Hoops cancelled the former
Leicester right-back’s
proposed trial stint.

CARDIFF owner Vincent Tan
is considering selling his
stake in American side Los
Angeles FC in what could be
a big boost to the Bluebirds’
promotion chances.
The Malaysian is one of a
number of high-profile
investors in LA FC – his
stake is between £80million
and £120m – alongside
American actor Will Ferrell.
But Tan is thought to be
keen to focus solely on his
role with Cardiff.
The Welsh side are
preparing for life in the
Championship after
relegation from the Premier
League and the potential
for further investment from
Tan will excite veteran boss
Neil Warnock.
