SOLSKJAER £30M BID FOR

LOCAL HERO LONGSTAFF

FROM SIMON MULLOCK
in Shanghai
MANCHESTER UNITED are
ready to test Newcastle’s
resolve to keep Sean
Longstaff by making a
£30million bid.
United manager Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer has made
the Geordie a priority

that sum has set the
benchmark.
United reckon
Newcastle’s asking

a player who has

FROM SIMON MULLOCK

PEP GUARDIOLA has
blasted suggestions that
Manchester City acted with
arrogance and a lack of
respect during their
pre-season trip to China.
The Premier League
champions have moved on
to Hong Kong after losing
in the final of the Asia
Trophy in Shanghai on
Saturday night.
But criticisms levelled at
the club in an editorial
published by the
government-owned Xinhua
Agency still upset them.
Guardiola has dismissed
claims that City failed to
embrace China – and
promised that the Blues
would return soon.
Speaking on the editorial,
he said “I should say that I
don’t agree with it and also
that it’s false – we had an
incredible time in Shanghai.
“We were committed to
the co-operation you have
to have here in China.
“The people from the
hotel, all the people asking
us to do things – we were
ready to do that. That’s why

TEENAGE sensation Callum
Hudson-Odoi will sign a deal
worth nearly £50million after
pledging his future to Chelsea.
Just six months ago, the
18-year-old handed in a transfer
request to try and force a move to
Bayern Munich, after they put in a
£35m bid for his talents.
But in a major coup for new boss
Frank Lampard, Hudson-Odoi has
been persuaded to forget the
Bundesliga and pen a deal worth
more than £100,000 a week. And
