Hunger Games prequel
Suzanne Collins has announced she is writing a prequel to her best-selling dysto-
pian trilogy, Hunger Games. The currently untitled novel will come out in May
- The story will be set in Panem 64 years before the original trilogy. It will
focus on the time after the so-called “Dark Days” failed rebellion. “With this book,
I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is re-
quired of our survival,” Collins said. The first three Hunger Games books – the
last of which was published in 2010 – have sold more than 100 million copies and
have been translated into more than 50 languages. They have also been adapted
into four successful movies starring Jennifer Lawrence, which have made almost
$3bn at the box office.
