NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL
The famous Notting Hill Carnival
In August, like every summer since 1966, one of the world’s largest street
carnivals will be coming to the neighbourhood of Notting Hill, in London,
to celebrate the city’s Caribbean heritage. This year, the festivities will
take place from 24 to 26 of August and include costume-clad people from
the Caribbean dancing to traditional reggae, meringue, calypso, rumba,
and zouk music, and street vendors selling traditional food such as
seasoned jerk chicken and goat stew. Each year, close to one million
people attend the festival.
