(Nora) #1

Anastasia Soare

At 32, she arrived in the United States by way of communist
Romania, unable to speak English. Thirty years later, after
tending the brows of Amal Clooney and Oprah (in addition to
building a multibillion-dollar beauty brand), Anastasia Beverly
Hills herself adjourns to a bathroom with a view.

“For fragrance, I only wear Portrait of a Lady
by Frédéric Malle. People at work know I’m
there when they smell it. I don’t wear Chanel,
but I think it looks so chic in the bathroom.
Everything else is organized in drawers under
the sink. I don’t like to see mess. I just put
the things I want to see in these Hermès trays.”

“I needed the bathtub near the window. It
makes me feel like I’m in the clouds. I have my
champagne, the bubbles in the bathtub, and
the most incredible view. You feel good, and you
think, I work really hard for this, but I fully deserve
it and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.”

“When I moved in, there wasn’t enough light to do my makeup,
so I installed 3,000-lumen vertical light fixtures. Now I
have excellent light, even at night. I cut some stencils, and
I made those 24-karat-gold foil waves. That’s my art.”

to enjoy every minute of it.”
