because we have some amazing women on our
team behind the camera. The boxing world has
actually been really supportive and welcoming,
it’s just the social media side of it that I don’t
necessarily understand.

Have you ever had a situation at work where
you have been judged for being a woman?
Never where I work. But on social media yeah,
I quite often get people that find it harder to
adjust to me doing my role. But that could be
a generational thing.

What’s been your experience of social media?
On the whole, I would say good. But I have also
experienced the dark side. I had a bit of a run of
it last summer. And I have always accepted that if
you’ve got an opinion, maybe you’ve disagreed
with something I’ve said on air, fine, comment.
But when it’s personal and they target my family,
that’s just not on. You do have to have a rhino’s
skin in this job but also, we’re all human.

You’ve said they targeted your late brother
last summer...
Yeah. What amazes me is the levels they go to
research your life to target you. Haven’t they
got anything better to do than sit on a keyboard
and troll people? Something does need to be
done to change it.

You wrote on Twitter earlier this year that
there is ‘no time limit on grief’, after losing
your brother five years ago. How do you
cope with your grief?
Exercise. When my brother was killed – that
time’s quite blurry – I just put my trainers on and
went for a run. I always say there is no time limit
on grief and there is no specific way to grieve.
I found that exercise helped and also gave me
structure. The power of sport is massive in terms
of helping with things like grieving.

How many times a week do you work out?
As many as I can! I have danced all my life.
From the age of three until my mid twenties, I
did ballet, tap and modern. The fitness started
when I was at uni and I genuinely love the
mental and physical benefits. I try and work
out between four and six times a week, but
it honestly depends on work and how I’m
feeling. If I’m knackered then I won’t. I love
strength training in particular now. That has
