‘CORRIE’GOINGLIVE?

J

ack P Shepherd [right]
has hinted that Corrie
will do a live episode for the
60th anniversary next year.
Nothing has been confirmed
yet but I think that would be
great. I was involved in the
last live episode and it was
an adrenaline rush. Going
live can be daunting but it
was such a brilliant thing to
be a part of. Sadly I won’t
be around for the 60th
anniversary but I’ll certainly
be tuning in.

L

ast week I posted a picture of Emilie
and David on Instagram [above] and
said how proud I am of them. I was
having a bit of a soppy moment as
Emilie sent me the picture and it made
me a bit emotional. Even though we live
together, I haven’t seen much of them
recently. Emilie is busy being a mummy
to her gorgeous son Teddy, and David
is either at work, playing football or with
his girlfriend, so we haven’t had much
quality time together recently.

GETDRESSEDUP!’

T

he ITV Summer Party last week [see over the
page] was a great excuse to get dressed up
and catch up with some people I haven’t seen
for a while. I had a lovely chat with Robbie
Williams, who I’ve met a few times over the years. He
saw me and came over to say hello, which was sweet.
He’s such a nice guy. I also had my picture taken with
Warwick Davis, because I love him [bottom], and Mark
Labbett and Anne Hegerty from The Chase. My mum
is a huge fan of Mark so she was very jealous when
I sent her the picture [below right]! I was only able
to stay at the party for a few hours as I had to travel
back to Manchester for work the next day. I stayed at
the May Fair Hotel overnight, and I felt very sensible,
leaving the party at a decent time and making sure I
was tucked up in bed and ready for work.
My dress on the night [right] was from a brand
called Zimmermann, but I had to go on quite a few
shopping trips to find it. I chose one dress with my
friend Martine, who’s a stylist, but the next day I
changed my mind so we had to go shopping again!
The dress I ended up with was fairly expensive, which
is very unlike me as I don’t usually
like to spend a lot of money on
clothes. Mum and dad are very level
headed, and from a real down-to-
earth background. And they’ve
always taught me the value in being
sensible with
your cash. I
don’t like to
treat myself
too often and
I’m still a stickler for getting a
good deal. No matter where
you are in your life, I think it’s
good to have those principals.
Last week I also said goodbye
to my co-star Faye Brookes
[above], who has now filmed her
final scenes at Corrie. We play
cousins and have worked closely
together for a long time, so I’m
sad to see her go but we’ve
promised we’ll stay in touch.

I

t’s impressive to hear that Amanda
Holden [above] has landed a £1 million
record deal with Virgin EMI. I didn’t
even know she could sing! It’s not
always easy to change careers like that,
but I’m sure Simon Cowell will give her
lots of advice. I went from music into
acting and luckily it worked out for me
but it isn’t always that easy to make the
leap. I wish her the best of luck! OK!
