s far as I am aware there
are now three models of
this new German Infantry
Fighting Vehicle in this
scale on the market. In my humble opinion I
think that RFMs depiction is the nicest I have
seen so far. On opening the large box, I was
met with several sand coloured sprues with
very crisp and sharp detail moulded on, a
very comprehensive clear set for periscopes
and lenses should you wish to keep yours
clear, an etched fret, a length of very pliable
copper wire and a nice set of printed
markings. The tracks come on several sprues
and the detail on these is also very good. The

instruction booklet
seemed pretty
straightforward
but mine had the
instructions for
the tracks missing.
I understand that
this has now been
dealt with on models
now on the market. I
had to go on line to ind
out how they went together
before I started.
As seems to be the norm with
Ryeield Models they’ll have you build the
turret irst and so for once I did. From steps
1-5, I had no issues at all, and the it was
very good. In step 5 there is a choice on
whether to have the MG port open. If you
decide to do this, you may want to add a
little more detail around the weapon. Also,
when gluing part F60 take care when itting
this as the end that goes towards the
turret is meant to go inside one
of the holes in the protection

frame for the main gun.
The following steps from
here to 9 were again pretty straight
forward and the it good. The etched brass
sight protector that gets added in step 7
is a nice touch. Steps 10-14 deals with the
running gear here I used a steel rule just to
make sure the gaps in between the wheels
were all in line. It was now that I jumped
forward in the instructions and after itting
the side armour to the upper hull, then put
together the rear hull and ixed both these
to the lower hull. I just knew if I followed
the guide id go and break things of when
putting these together later. Also, it helped
me when working out whether to assemble
all of the tracks or just the ones that
would be seen. Now although
the tracks did take about a
