showed me a picture of a part of his

kit collection recently and in it I saw

the Pilot Replicas Saab J-29F Tunnan.

I made a remark along the lines of ‘I

think that kit has got my name on it Alan’ and

how big was my surprise when he asked me if

I wanted it! I happily said yes, and the kit duly

arrived just before Christmas. What a great

present!! Alan had already painted the cockpit

and to his usual high standards, so this got me

right into the construction, and wow, is this

kit a modellers dream! The quality is nothing

short of amazing, everything is just right, the

it, the details, the depth and width of the

panel lines and the rivets. All just perfect.

After construction I applied a coat of

Alclad Black Primer and Microfiller, which

was lightly sanded with a worn sanding

stick. After that I chose the colours for the

two-tone green scheme with the help of

Robert Bergwall who is the designer of the

Moose Republic decals, which I used for

this build. His help was indispensable, and

I am very grateful for all this assistance.

The paint job was sealed with a coat Alclad

Aqua Gloss and then an AK Interactive

Dark Green wash was used as a panel line

wash. The Moose Republic decals are top

quality, printed by Cartograf, and they

went down superbly with Daco strong

decal setting solution.
