ne of the great joys of editing Model

Aircraft is the sheer diversity of

subjects we can bring you every

month from some of the most

talented modellers around. Even a

cursory glance at this month’s issue will reveal

some quite outstanding builds, which we

hope will enthuse you to have a go yourself!

One of the often-used watchword phrases is

‘practice makes perfect’, and this is very true

when it comes to modelling. No-one gets it

right irst time, and the projects we feature

in MAM are a result of the individual builders

many hours of both frustration

and joy, that has taken them

on a journey to reach a goal. I

know some will look at a model

and think ‘I can’t do that’, but

you never know until you

try! Inside MAM every month

you will ind step-by-step guides on various

building, painting and inishing techniques,

as well as some useful references and more

than a dash of inspiration! This month we have

a Sukhoi lavour with Ian Gaskell’s Su-30 and

Snorre Sandviken’s Su-27, plus Kitti Tatsumaki’s

Chinese Shenyang J-15. We also

have our irst airshow report of

the year with Paul Bradleys visit

to MCAS Yuma to see the Marine

Corps F-35 in action. So as always

there is plenty to enjoy, and all that

remains for me to say is......
