silver hatches on the engine exhaust. After that
I lightened up the outer exhaust rings with
Sunin7 S60 Stainless Steel Mirror and Clear Blue
for burnt metal efect. I also used Burnt Umber
and brown oil paint to simulate leaking oil on
engine hatches.
I also tried a new painting method on this
build, so irst I directly sprayed on Gunze 338
Light Grey FS36495 as I want the inish as thin as
possible. Next, I painted the entire aircraft with
Gunze 338, and simulated paint fading by using
diferent tones of Grey, and added cold/warm
variations by using Clear Orange and Clear Blue.
I then masked and painted the nose cone and
tailin tips with Gunze 305 Grey FS36118 and
used Gunze 27 Interior Green for inner parts of
air-brake and laps. The gun ports were painted
with Aluminum, Gunze 08 Silver and Gunze
1000 Stainless Steel for the hatches behind. I
also use Burnt Iron for some colour variation on
the metal plates.
In terms of markings the J-15 doesn’t have
much in the way of decals, especially stencils so
I used some third-party ones for the common
stencils. Like always, Trumpeter’s decals are thin
and awesome, and with just one layer of Mr
Mark Softener they settled down well. I then
sealed and protected them with a Gaia Clear
Coat before adding and AK Interactive Paneliner
for Grey and Blue Camoulage. I mostly use AK
