’m sure all the readers of this ine

publication know what the Eduard

‘ProiPACK’ boxings are all about, as they

include lots of very inely detailed etched

parts, and sometimes a vast selection

of decals with multiple colour and marking

schemes and well illustrated instruction

booklets. However, their ‘Weekend Editions’ are

also excellent and contain a no nonsense, no

frills model kit. So, with that in mind

I decided to see if indeed I could

build and paint their 1:48 F6F-3 over a

weekend. So, irst thing Saturday morning

I opened the box and jumped right in as the

countdown had begun.

As with most aircraft kits I began with the

cockpit. This was a straightforward assembly of

the cockpit loor, the rear wall, the side consoles
