H
aving already built this kit twice, I can certainly attest to its ease of
construction and the sense of satisfaction from producing such an
amazing scale replica of one of the UK’s most famous jet training
aircraft.
All the parts fi t well, though as the mouldings are made to a very
high tolerance, each part will need their respective mating surfaces carefully
cleaning up to ensure a perfect fi t. The cockpit is very well detailed with multipart
ejection seats, pilot fi gures if you want to include them, a centre console and a
neat little decal for the instrument panel.
The only real faux pas in this kit is the externally moulded canopy frame on the
main opening section, this is easily removed and sanded and polished if it offends
you, or just leave it be, of course.
Either way, this is a stunning little kit that builds quickly and easily, with plenty of
options for the markings as there have been a lot of aftermarket options that have
become available if the two colourful options included don’t excite you.
The two options for markings are:
● Jet Provost T.4, C fl ight , No.7(R) squadron, No.1 Tactical Weapons Unit,
RAF Chivenor, Devon, England, 1989.
● Jet Provost T.4, No.79(R) squadron, No.1 Tactical Weapons Unit, RAF
Chivenor, Devon, England,1982.
One sports a two tone grey scheme with low-viz markings, whilst the other is a
camoufl aged aircraft with hi-viz markings, both being interesting, colourful options.
