E

duard’s range of 1:48 Fw190s does
not really need any introduction
within these pages, being covered
as they have in a few guises since
their inception. As is becoming the
norm from the Czech manufacturer the fi rst
releases normally come in what is known as
‘Profi Pack’ confi guration comprising the plastic
kit parts with photo-etched details, a set of
pre-cut masks for the wheels and canopies,
sometimes, resin embellishments and often,
fi ve or more markings options.
The kits are then subsequently released as
‘Weekend Edition’ kits that comprise the basic
plastic with only one or two markings options
and no etch, masks or resin, the premise being
that they could be built over a weekend. That
being so, I set out test this theory; a 48 hour
time period was set aside over a cold February
weekend to see if this could be achieved or
to see just how far I could get to completion
within the time constraints I had set myself. To
that end I prepped all the necessary materials

WEEKEND WÜRGER

A simplifi ed kit release doesn’t have to mean a less-than-impressive replica, as we

build of one of Eduard’s latest Fw190s over the space of two, relaxing days...
