FITTERANALYSIS
Trevorwasusingaregular-shafted
driver,butitwasalittlesoftandwasn’t
quitedelivering.Themainthinghe
wantedtoachievefromthesession
wasmoreconsistency.He’sdefinitely
onthelongersideofthespectrumfor
someoneofhissortofageand
handicap,buthewantedcontrol–
moreconsistentdistanceessentially.
Weexperimentedwithashaftthat was
probablytoostiff,butI wanted
somethingthatwoulddeliverthat
consistencyforhim.Thenwesoftened
itdownalittlebit–it’sprobablyagrade
stifferthantheshafthehasrightnow.
Withtheabilitytomovetheweights
onM5,I wasabletomaximisethespin
fromthestiffershaftsohe’sactually
usingagenerousloftwiththeweights
allthewaybacktomaintainhisspin.
He’snowhittingitonabetter
trajectory,withslightlylessspinthan
before,andstartingitmuchmoredown
thetargetline.He’sdefinitelygained
morecontrolofhisdirection, as well as
afewextrayards.
TREVOR’SFEEDBACK
Thefittingwentreallywell.I didn’thave
anyrealexpectationsbecausethe
wholethingisnewtome,soitwas
moreofacaseoflearningaboutthe
swingandlearningaboutthecluband
whatwouldhappenwhenI hitit.Mark
spottedstraightawaywhatI needed.
I wantedtoworkonmyconsistency.
Mynaturalshotwithadriveriseithera
fadeorgoingtowardsaslice.I’mnot
reallybotheredaboutdistance,I just
neededtodialtheconsistencyinand
that’swhatMarkwasabletodo.The
slightlystiffershaftgavememore
control,butI wassurprisedathow
increasingtheloftalsohelpedthe
performanceasitiscontrarytowhatI
believedwouldwork.Itgavememore
controlandstraightenedtheflightout.
