RAIL LINE PUTTERS

After trying a cylindrical headed putter in a pro
shop, Australian Paul Kerin set about designing
his own putters. The Rail Line blade and mallet
putters the result of his six-year journey to
produce putters focusing on feel and forward roll.
The cylinder design is intended to get the
ball rolling quicker off the clubface, while the
combination of an anodised aluminium body
and brass heel and toe weights delivers
a soft but solid feel at impact.
Able to be fi tted for lie angles in
half-degree increments, Rail Line
putters’ aluminium construction is
created using CNC machining, while the
rear alignment pieces are cut by water jet.
The polished brass pieces at the heel and toe
of each putter help raise the head weight and MOI
of the blade and mallet putters, which weigh in at
365 and 395 grams respectively.
RRP: $249 (blade); $289 (mallet) – special
introductory offer.

SCOTTY CAMERON

PHANTOM X

Titleist’s master putter maker Scotty Cameron’s name
is synonymous with high-quality, high-performing
putters. His latest creations, the Phantom X range
are the “most high tech putter line we’ve designed to
date” according to Cameron.
The nine models of the Phantom X range replace
the Futura line, and continue Cameron’s use of multi-
material construction in his putters. 6061 aircraft
aluminium faces that feature a stealth-like anodized
black fi nish combine with misted fi nish 303 stainless
steel heads to optimise weight distribution and raise
MOI, while also improving sound and feedback thanks
to Cameron’s vibration dampening technology.
Consisting of fi ve streamlined head shapes that are
more compact than their Futura predecessors, the
Phantom X range also includes a variety of shaft bend
options and alignment options to suit any mallet user.
Low-bend, mid-bend and straight-shaft options offer
varying degrees of toe fl ow to cater to arcing and
straighter stroke types, while alignment lines, dots
and raised or stepped-down fl anges are some of the
options available to golfers to assist when lining up
theirputtsonthegreen.
