WHAT YOU CAN LEARN
Pepperell is one of the best close-range hole
out putters on Tour, which is why avoids
three-putting better than any other player on
the European Tour.
The key to his success is a good set-up and from
that point he keeps his eyes very still – over the
putting line – until the ball is on its way to the hole.

AARON BADDELEY

2019 STATS Rank
Strokes-Gained-Putting .680 10 (PGA Tour)
Putts Per GIR 1.720 10 (PGA Tour)
One-Putt percentage 45.10% 1 (PGA Tour)
Putts Per Round 27.78 3 (PGA Tour)

WHAT YOU CAN LEARN
Watch Aaron Baddeley putt and you
will notice one key thing. It doesn’t
matter whether it’s a three-foot putt or a
50-footer, his pre-putt routine is exactly
the same every time.
The game’s best putters know that
sticking to a routine is necessary for
making consistent strokes and making
more putts.
What kind of routine do you have? If
you’re not sure, follow Badds’ lead.

Start by looking at the putt from
behind the ball, then about halfway
down the putting line and one more look
from behind the hole. This helps to get a
clear picture of the slope and speed.
All that is left for Baddeley left to do
is stroke the putt. He is renowned for
minimising the amount of time between
his routine and pulling the trigger, to
avoid having any negative thoughts
blurring his belief.
