Look what I made
When my mum Reta Thomas, 85, saw the
pattern for a crocheted baby blanket in the
magazine, she rang me to see if I could order
the wool for her. When it arrived, she wasn’t
sure if she’d be able to manage it, as she
hadn’t done such an involved pattern before.
She decided to give it a go and I thought
that I should send you a photo, as it looks
amazing. It’s giving her great satisfaction.
As she struggles getting up and down
stairs, she usually has two projects on the
go – one upstairs, one downstairs – and
she thought you also might also like the
tea cosy that she often makes, from a
vintage pattern that she believes comes
from Woman’s Weekly.

I’vejustreturnedfroma wonderful
family holiday in Mellieha Bay,
in Malta. I took a break and had a
good read of my copy of Woman’s
Weekly – and it was so good that
even the local cat came for a look!

Here are my dogs
Barney and Benson,

Murphy in the middle!
My mum buys your
magazine, too, and
I’d love to surprise her
when she sees this.
