Imagequality
‘Thatsensorsize,24MPfullframe,is
somethingofa sweetspot,’saysMark.‘The
camerageneratesa greatrawfile,withlots
ofdetail,butdoesn’tclogupallyour
storage,soit’sanidealsize.Tobehonest,
evenasa professionalphotographer,your
imagesaren’tprintedbiggerthanA4very
often.Landscapeandadvertising
photographersmightneed more resolution
butit worksforme.’

AutofocusandISO
‘Ididn’thaveanyproblemswiththeAF.It
is nowherenearasfastastheD850orthe
latestZ-seriesmirrorlessmodels,butis
certainlynoslouch.I usedback-button
focusingandthecameracopedwellwith
mostsituationsduringtheshoot.ISO
performanceis stillprettygood– afterall,
theD750is nota particularly“old”
camera,andcameoutin2014.I could
pushtheISOupto6400,shootingatf/5.
and1/60secondinsidetheTateModern
gallery,andstillgetdecentimages.’

Handlingandbatterylife
‘Thehandlingwasfine,andNikonmenus
areconsistentthroughtherangesoyou
don’tneedtowastetimefiguringthings
out.Thebuildqualityis sturdy;although
it’snotuptotheNikonD5orD6standard,
thecamerastillfeelslikea decentbitof
kit.Whatreallyimpressesmeaboutthe
D750,however,is thebatterylife.Whether
I amshootingweddingsorstreet,it just
seemstogoonforever,andit’sevenbetter
onthenewerDSLRsandmirrorless
models.ThebiggestdownsideoftheD
is liveviewbecausethisfunctionis notas
goodasthelatestmodelsintermsof
resolution and ease of focusing.’
