455,210unitslastyearto358,316.
Thetruepicturecouldbemuchworse,
however,astheselatestfiguresdon’ttakeinto
accounttheimpactof coronavirus.Attemptsto
controlthespreadof thediseasehavenotonly
hitfactoryproductivityandsupplychains,but
therearefewercustomersoutandabout,
thoughthismaybelessof anissueforonline-
dominated camera and lens retailing. As well as

coronavirusdentingconsumerconfidence,the
threat from smartphones is as strong as ever.
