Why study sexuality and gender?

Human sexual behavior is responsible for the reproduction of the human race, but it is also one of the most import-

ant motivators of human behavior. Gender, the psychological identification of a person as masculine or feminine,

affects not only how people think of themselves but also their relationships with others as friends, lovers, and

coworkers and how those others think of them as well.
