per month, there are new revenue models
that should keep valuable journalism alive.


THE FUTURE IS COMING


When you consider how much of an impact
iPad has had on the world, it’s hard to
picture where we’ll be in another decade. It’s
important that we look to Apple for pointers
of where we’re headed, and they’ve already
given us one when they launched iPadOS in
September. By forking the iPad and iPhone
operating systems, Apple has demonstrated
that it sees value in further differentiating
the two platforms and evolving the iPad into
a productivity tool that will better compete
with the PC and laptop market. And as we’ve
seen with latest sales figures, where Apple’s
wearables market overtook its Mac product
category for the first time in history, we’ll
see Apple place greater emphasis on building
products for the iPad to flesh out the market
amid slowing computer sales. That could
include new iPad models, new accessories,
new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard-style
peripherals, or new categories.


That’s without mentioning Apple’s new
developer toolset for Mac (named Project
Catalyst), designed to allow the Mac to run iPad-
built applications. This is a hugely significant
