Ben OsBOrn admits even he wouldn’t
select himself in sheffield United’s side.
He arrived from nottingham Forest
for £5million last summer but has
spent the bulk of this season on the
outside looking in at Bramall Lane.
Osborn, 25, has been handed just six
league outings plus four more in FA
and League Cup clashes for boss Chris
Wilder’s surprise packages.
The midfielder (above) said: “When I
take a step back, look at the bigger
picture and think about the quality of
the players the manager has got, I ask
myself ‘If I was him would I change it?’
“The answer is no I wouldn’t because
the two lads in my position, enda
stevens and John Fleck, have been
outstanding so I have no complaints.
“If we do get into europe, there will
be loads more games for us next
season, and that’s something I want to
be involved in.
“That’s an exciting prospect, so one
thing for sure is that I can’t see me
leaving the club.”
Osborn steps out of the supporting
cast and into a starring role tonight
when the Blades head to
Championship side reading in tonight’s
FA Cup fifth round clash.
He added: “It would be a dream
come true to win the FA Cup, and we
know it’s a big chance for us.”

GeOrGe PUsCAs only needs “half
a chance” to score against sheffield
United tonight, according to
reading boss Mark Bowen.
The royals face the Premier
League high-fliers in the fifth round
of the FA Cup. And Bowen is tipping
Puscas (above) to inspire an upset
after scoring his 12th of the season
in saturday’s 2-0 win over Barnsley.
“As a finisher, George has some
really good qualities,” said Bowen.
“He knows where the goal is, he
only needs half a chance and he can
score. Like all strikers, he lives and
dies by his goals.
“But he’s still young and he’s got
more to come. His all-round game
needs improving, he knows that.”
Puscas, 23, didn’t quite cut it in
Italy with Inter Milan or Palermo,
but is starting to hit form now.

injury and will miss the tie
but James Milner and Joe
Gomez have returned to
fitness. Klopp also defended
his under-fire centre-back
Dejan Lovren (left) following
the defeat at Watford.
He said: “A lot of times in
my life I speak to people and
they know less than I do
about football. That’s OK as
I’m a well-paid
Premier League
manager and I
should know
more than most
people.
“But on that
level, I can’t
discuss it.
“If anybody
gave Dejan
Lovren the blame
for our defeat
then I can’t help
these people.”
Klopp bristled at the
suggestion that could
persuade him to go harder
with a more senior selection
this evening.
The German coach added:
“I’m not sure if you noticed,
but we go really hard in all
the games.
“How can I take a risk
with a player who played on
Saturday? No, I
can’t.
“If I think we
need another
option, I will do
it. I want to win
this game.
“I don’t think,
‘Send the
reserves out
a g a i n s t
Chelsea’. We are
not like this.”
Naby Keita
has a minor hip
have to look at where we
are as a club. Work with
what is in front of us.
“We are trying to
improve and Chelsea fans
understand that.
“When I first came
to this
club
a s a
player I
was part of a team that was
not winning trophies. That
process to get a team was
long and hard.
“We are not quite there. We
are in the fight around fourth
place – and people did not
expect us to be there.
“I know where we are at. I
know it will be tough. The gap
at the moment is pretty big.”
Lampard is set to bring
misfit goalkeeper Kepa back
into his side six weeks after
dropping him.
He said: “Kepa is in the
frame. It’s how well
you train, and he’s
been training well.”
not played many games
recently getting a chance.
But he hit out when
questioned whether – in the
team meeting – his side
showed they are hurt
by defeat and ready
to react.
“Of course, they
want to strike back,”
said Klopp. “This is an
exceptional group of players.
“That night, we were just
not good enough.”
Chelsea is a tricky away
trip and Liverpool also face
a struggle in the Champions
League, trailing Atletico
Madrid 1-0 (above, left)
going into the second leg.
The Reds could win the
league before the end of
March, so defeat in both the
FA Cup and Champions
League would mean their
season ended early. But
known for being patient when it
comes to his managers. Only
once since he bought the club in
2003 has a Blues boss survived
without winning a trophy – Jose
Mourinho’s first year of his
second spell in 2013-14.
The FA Cup is almost
certainly Lampard’s last chance
of silverware this season with
Chelsea on the brink of a
Champions League exit after
losing 3-0 in the first leg of their
last-16 tie against Bayern
Munich (below).
“That is something that is
not in my control,” he said. “You
not a little bit in doubt about
the character of the boys
and I would be a real idiot if
I would be, to be honest.
“They deserve my
trust, my faith and
they don’t lose it
after one bad game.
“It can happen
that I get angry with
the players, but I didn’t
get angry with the players in
this meeting.
“If I go into that meeting
and shout at them like they
have lost 10 games in a row
because of a bad attitude,
that would be really strange.”
While Klopp wants his
side to learn from their
defeat, they will not get an
immediate chance to do so.
He will be making
wholesale changes at
Stamford Bridge, with those
squad members who have
of this team that is now an
absolute machine – rolling
everyone over.
“It can take time. Behind a
team that wins is hard work
from everyone, which is what I
am trying to do at Chelsea.
“There is a plan that has run
through Liverpool, which we’ll
try to do here – understanding
there will be tough times when
I’ll be questioned and we have
to stay tough.
“Liverpool is a great model.
What they’ve done is fantastic.”
Chelsea owner Roman
Abramovich is not exactly
JUrgen KlOPP insisted
he would be an “idiot” if
he did not keep total faith
with his wounded
liverpool side.
The Reds manager
revealed he held a team
meeting the day after their
shock 3-0 defeat at Watford
(above, right), but explained
he did not exchange harsh
words with the players.
Instead, Klopp told them
he knows they will bounce
back by showing their
mental strength following
the end of a remarkable 44-
game Premier League
unbeaten run.

watering and now significant

champions-elect tonight in the
fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Chelsea boss is in his
debut season as a top-flight
manager but says Liverpool are
the example he wants to follow.
Klopp finished eighth in his
first season in charge at Anfield
in 2015-16, then had two fourth
places before last year finishing
runners-up to Manchester City
while also winning the
Champions League.
This season they are 22

Chelsea battle it out for a
