Capital City

Tbilisi is its capital city in Georgia as well as its largest city, home to roughly a third of the Georgian
population.
Baku is located 28 metres below sea level, which makes it the lowest-lying national capital in the
world and the largest city in the world, located below sea level. Baku lies on the southern shore of the
Absheron Peninsula, alongside the Bay of Baku.
Currency

The currency in Georgia is the Georgian Lari. Although prices are occasionally quoted in US dollars
and euros, Georgian law requires that all goods and services be paid in local currency.
Azerbaijani Manat is the currency of Azerbaijan. The code is AZN, and the sign: is ₼; its abbreviation
is m.
Language

The official language of Georgia is Georgian. It is written using the Mkhedruli script. It is the most
widely spoken Kartvelian language. The Kartvelian language family is unrelated to any other.
Azerbaijani or Azeri is a language belonging to the Turkic language family, spoken in southwestern
Asia by the Azerbaijani people, primarily in Azerbaijan and northwestern Iran. It is the official
language of Azerbaijan.
Religion

According to a 2014 census, 83.4% of the Georgian population identified themselves as Eastern
Orthodox Christian, 10.7% Muslim, 2.9% Armenian Apostolic, and 0.5% Catholic.

Ethnic Azerbaijanis are mainly Muslims.

Location and size

Georgia is located in southwestern Asia, east of the Black Sea. It borders Turkey and Armenia on the
south, Azerbaijan on the southeast, and Russia on the north. With a total area of about 69,700 square
kilometres

Azerbaijan measures 86 600 square kilometres and lies between latitudes 38° and 42° N, and
longitudes 44° and 51° E. The total length of Azerbaijan's land borders is 2,648 km of which 1,007
km, are with Armenia, 756 km with Iran, 480 kilometres with Georgia, 390 km with Russia and 15 km
with Turkey. The coastline stretches for 800km, and the length of the widest area of the Azerbaijani
section of the Caspian Sea is 456km.
Population

Georgia’s current population is 3.8 million and the population density is 57 per Km2.

Azerbaijan’s population is 10.14 million and has a population density of 123 per Km2.
