If youtakeinto consideration the location
and exceptionalscenery of StFrancisBay,
thereare disappointinglyfew campsites
in this region. So,when we recently
heardthatDavid Glanville andGary
Gilberthadtaken the oldStFrancis Bay
caravan park and basicallyremodelledit
from theground up,wewere eager to get
in here.
Andwe areglad we did, because the
twogentlemen have establishedadecent
campsitehere, onyour right justasyou
enter the town.
Theold caravan park wasinapine
forest, butthenew ownersgot ridof
theseinvadertreesand drewfrom
David’sknowledge asahorticulturist
for an exceptionallybeautiful and
painstakingly neatcampsite.
David says hewanted to create the
feel of anoasis, andthatisi ndeed the
impressionWaterberryPark evokes.
Thecampsite is divided into four
sections with standsof varyingsizes.
It’seasytofind one that suitsyour needs
and thereare camping spotsfortents,
motorhomes, caravans andalso four
luxury stands.
On thesefour, youget your ownpaved
areato braa ion, they’reabit bigger than
the others.Theresor tstaff bringyouyour
braaiandgrid as soonas youset up,but
we probablystill inheritedone fr om the
old caravan park because itwasvery
tired andthe bottomwasrusted.Bring
your ownwhen youcamphere, because
after supper therewere morecoals in the
plate underneath, than in thebraai itself.
Eachstand alsohas itsown blue plug
point, rubbish bin and tap.And there’s
lovely green grasseverywhere.Thetrees
are sparse and the ones thatare here
don’t give significant shade–onsome
standsyouspendthewhole dayinthe
sun. So, bringyour reflective sheet and
gazebo along.
There are also twoteepeesand two
safari tentsfor when youwant to invite
your friendswho don’t have theirown
campingequipment.
Thetentsare equipped with
beds (ormattresses), powerBEAUTIFUL,MAN.BEAUTIFUL.You
cansee thatWaterberry’soneowner
is ahorticulturalistbyprofession.

agarden-likesetting,butfewget it
as right as this one.
