Yo u’ll findaskottel braai withagrid on
the side ofthepaving, but it’snot close
toyour caravan. There arefreestanding
braaisavailable ifyouprefer one of them.
There’snograssat the riverand
Bushveld camps and there are fewer
trees thanat the main camp,butyoualso
camp on paving.Withits four stands, the
rivercamp is the more intimateoneand a
goodchoice ifyouwant to come and visit
with some friends or family. Thestream
also passeshere–stands number 18 and
19 are closest to thewater.
Due to the Bushveld camp’slayout,you
will see more ofyourneighbours’ doings.
There’saswimming pool (1,4mdeep)
andaplayground with jungle gyms,
swings andavolleyball net.Thepoolhas
alawnandis fenced.
Comfortable and private
At EdenPark ,youdon’thavetohikeall
thewaytotheablution facilities, as each
standboasts itsownfacilities.Twosites
shareanablution blockthat’sdividedinto
two:akitchenette andbathroom for each
stand, eachwithitsown entrance.
Thekitchen floor is tiled and has two
wooden shelves withenough storage
spaceforyour food and cooking utensils.
It also has two2 20 Vpower points in the
kitchen: onerightabovethebasinand
one under the shelf, justabovethefloor
at the kitchen entrance.Thebottom one
is convenientlyplacedforyour camping
fridge, butyou’ll needashort extension
cord ifyouwant to use thatone foryour
kettle andtoaster on the shelf.Theblue
powerpoint is also underthewooden
shelves, next to the regular plug.The
wash basin is on the side ofthebuilding
andyousharethatwithyourneighbor.
Thedoor to the bathroom leadsfrom
the kitchen.Theroom hasastandard
showercubicle withaglass sliding door.
Insidethe showerisasoapdish, but
shampoos andthelikewillneed to sit on
top of thewall.Some of the bathrooms
haveafree-standing basinwhileothers
are on top ofacupboard.There’salso
abin andenough hangingandstorage
space foryour clothes and toiletry bag.Explorethe area
There are morethan10 km of pathsforyoutowalk, jog andcycle among the
Bushveld trees.All the paths havetree
names, and with help of themapyouget
at thefrontdesk,youwon’teasilyget
lost–eventhe distancesare indicated.
Do some gameviewingwhile exercising –
you’ll see kudu,nyala, bushbuckand blue
wildebeest among others.
Herman’sHut,overlooking the dam,
is greatforbirdwatching, to and relax
at Eddie’s Waterhole to seewhocomes
to drink.
