TheleftsideoftheAndes is probably anycampchef’s dream: this is a
largekitchen with pull-outunits anddrawers.Thereisnoshortageof
storage spaceforyourfood andyouwill be abletosurviveinthebush
forweeksif youfill thedrawers withfood.
Thecookingstation( 11 8x 60 cm)ismounted abovetheaxleand
hasaworkingsurface(66x60cm) on theleftandatwo-burner gas
stovewithaglasslid is mountedinthetopontheright. Thecutlery
traypullsoutatthefront,belowtheworksurface.
Three2 20 Vpowersockets aretotherightofthe unit,and when
youneed 12 V, there’saBrad Harrison socket aboveit.You don’thave
toscratcharound in thecutlerytraylookingfor the bottle opener;you
justuse the onethat’sattached abovethestove.
Thealuminiumtable slides intoaframe abovethebox.Inthe pull-
out drawer (97x20cm) nexttotheworksurface, youcanpack the
food itemsyouregularly use. Thedrawerisdivided intotwo–the front
sectionwill workwell forspices andyourcoffeeandteacontainers.
Therearboxhasten canvasbagsinwhichyourwine and saucebottles
canstanduprightsothey don’t tipoverwhiletowing.Thisdraweris
carpeted, like alltheotherstoragespaces in the caravan.
Totheleftofthe draweris another pull-outunitfor cutleryanddishes.Thecaravanisequippedforsix people.The glassesdrawer
pulls outattheheadof theunitandtherearewine, whiskeyandwater
glasses thatfitintoacut-out sponge. Theplates, bowlsandmugs are
equallysecurein cut-outsponge inadrawerontheside of thebox.
Totherightofthisdrawerisarectangularcupboardthatis
deep enoughtoholdafryingpan andsaucepan, andtotheright,
acupboardwherethedishwashingsink,dryingrack anddetergents fit.
Thesinkanddryingrackfitintoaframe thatextends abovetheglasses
drawer.Remembertopushthe glasses drawerback in beforeyou
startwashingdishes,otherwiseyouwill dripwater ontotheglasses.
Thesinkfor the basin’s water pipe is on themudguard,leftbelowthe
worksurface.
Abovetheunit isapull-outdrawer (118x 44 x19cm)divided into
three,and largeand deep enoughforpots, pansandfood.Sturdy clips
holdall units anddrawers inplacewhenopen.
Thefridge’sstoragespaceisonapull-outdrawer in the nosecone.
Abovethekitchen,atthe highestpointofthe caravan, isalarge
outdoorLED thatcanrotatetoshine indifferentplaces. Thelightcasts
abright ray, andalthough it illuminatesthekitchen properly,the beam
maybetoo brightforsomepeople.Thelightswitchislocated inside
thetentonthe left, justabovethe powerbox.
