Cutting
Make accurate templates (page 90)
for A, B, and C (pages 123–125),
adding 1/4 ̋ seam allowances to all
sides of each shape. Punch holes at
the dots and transfer all reference
lines, information, and grainline
arrows. A and Aa are the same size
and shape; only one template is
required to reflect all reference lines
and information. B and Bb are the
same size and shape, but have two
different grain-placement arrows;
only 1 template is needed. Shape C
(the large triangle shape that holds
the 4 B’s) will also be used later
as Cc. Make only 1 C template
reflecting grain placement arrows on
the corner and the long leg.
A: Cut 8 from deep dark and 16
from medium light for the 36 ̋
Sedona design only.
Aa: Cut 8 from the oversized unit.
B: Cut 8 from an accent and 8 from
medium light, with the straight
grain on the corner.
Bb: Cut 16 from background, with
the straight grain on the long leg.
C: Cut 4 from background, with the
straight grain on the corner.

  1. If you are making the 36 ̋ Sedona
design, you have already cut 24 A
    diamonds; set these aside.
    For both the 18 ̋ and the 36 ̋
    Sedona, cut 1 strip 11/4 ̋ × 42 ̋ from
