Gloves can be decorated with knot
formations for added elegance. Fold
a cord and tie a cloverleaf knot (1) followed
by a round brocade knot with six outer loops
(4). Extend the middle outer loop on each side
of the round brocade knot into a cloverleaf
knot (2, 3). On completing the round brocade
knot, tie a double connection knot (5) and a
cloverleaf knot (6) followed by a hui ling knot
(9). Tie the side loops just before and after
the right corner loops of the hui ling knot into
a cloverleaf knot (7, 8), making sure the left
and right sides of the knot are identical. On
completing the hui ling knot, separate the
cord ends and tie a cloverleaf knot on each
(10, 11), then bring them together to tie a
cloverleaf knot (12). Tie a second group of
three cloverleaf knots (13–15) following

Tie a copper wire into a series of flat
button knots and hook up the two
ends to form a bracelet.

90

To make this bracelet, first cross two
strands of double cords, then tie a
four-layer good luck tassel head. Fix a button
ring knot made of gold cord to the four cord
ends. Repeat the process of tying a good luck
tassel head and fixing a gold cord button ring
knot until the desired length for the bracelet
is reached, then join both ends with a metallic
knot and hook.

Tie a cord into a series of flat button
knots to form this bracelet. Hook up
all the button knots with a gold cord, then
sew a metallic hook and knot on the ends
of the bracelet.

This upper arm ring is made from a
length of metallic cord with a slanted
grain. Fold the cord in half and leave a small
loop at one end of the ring. Unite the two
ends of the folded cord below the loop and
leave enough length for the lower circumfer-
ence of the arm. Since metallic cords are stiff
and not easily distorted, bend both sides of
the folded cord into a simple pan changknot
shape, as shown above. Unite the cord ends
and wrap around half the circumference of
the upper arm. Bend the cord ends into a
hook for attaching to the loop. Before making
this upper arm ring, do a drawing to deter-
mine the length required as excessive bend-
ing might make the cord snap. If you use
pliers instead of your hands to bend the cord,
be careful not to crack the cord.

This bracelet is made with a silver guitar string. Fold the string, then twist the fold to
form a loop. Bind the twisted cord end with thread. Tie a series of double connection
knots until the desired length is reached, then bend the end of the string into a hook and bind
with thread. Attach love beans to the middle of each double connection knot with strong glue.

steps 10–12. Then tie a pan changknot (16),
a cloverleaf knot (17) and a pan changknot
(18). On completing the pan changknot, hide
one cord end inside the knot body. Tie the
other cord end into a ru yiknot (19) and hide
it also inside the pan changknot body. Finally,
sew the knot formation onto the glove.
