andhisShepherd’sPieandIndiandisheswere
alwayswell-received.Hewasnaturallycurious
abouteverythingfromhistorytonature,and
anynewinterestmeantatleastthreeorfour
newbookswereaddedtohislibrary.His
interestsspannedgoodfiction,history,travel,
sports,politicsand,whilehewasagood
conversationalistandlistener,hewasalsoa
cleverraconteur.
Brucewaspredeceasedbyhisolderbrother
and sister-in-law,Warren and Ingrid
McWilliams.Heissurvivedbyhiswife,Sheila
Albin;his children,SandraHope,Roderic
McWilliams(Terry)andAnnaMcWilliams;as
wellhisgrandchildren,CamillaandMilesHope,
andAndrew,Josh,andSamanthaMcWilliams,
Heenjoyedbeing“UncleBruce”inboththe
McWilliamsandAlbinfamilies,andwillbe
fondlyrememberedbynieces,nephews,and

Capitals,theWizards,andtheRedskins.He
lovedclassicalmusicandopera,especially
liveperformances.Asanavidphotographer
beforetheeraofdigitalcameras,Samtook
thousandsofpicturesoffamily,friends,
strangersandthebeautifulplaceshevisited.
Sam'switandcharmandopenheartdrew
peopletohimandallowedhimtomake
special connections with everyone he
encountered.
