Battle scenes aside, sitting on the final script for
the last six episodes ever of Game of Thrones
since October 2017 was the biggest challenge
that the cast of the epic saga faced. There
were tears and there were gasps following
plot revelations galore – none of which could
leave the set, or else!
“I’m definitely ready [for audiences to see
how the series ends],” Emilia Clarke, who plays
Daenerys Targaryen, tells Foxtel magazine.
“People are going to go crazy for this! They’re
gonna go wild for it. I can’t wait for everybody
else to be like, ‘Oh, now we get it!’”
Having portrayed the fierce Dothraki leader
and ‘Mother of Dragons’ since the beginning,
Clarke admits she had mixed feelings about
saying goodbye to the series.
“I definitely wouldn’t categorise it as a relief,”
she explains, adding with a laugh: “My longest
relationship is this show! When I look back on
it now... there is a little bit of me that’s like, ‘Okay,
I feel like we found the right moment to end
the show.’ So there’s a little bit of that, but the
vast majority of it is just feeling... I hate this
word, but just unbelievably grateful that I got
to have that experience.”
As for the future, the Solo: A Star Wars Story
actress is taking matters into her own hands:
“I have a number of things I’m developing myself

  • as a producer – which is very exciting. So we’ll

see how that goes.”

“I’m unbelievably

grateful”
