MISSION:
IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT
Stream from Tuesday May 7 or watch at 8.30pm on Premiere Movies [401]
As if there was ever any doubt,
six films in, it’s crystal clear that
the Mission: Impossible franchise
is a real passion project for its
star, Tom Cruise.
The action man – who also
serves as a producer – has
poured his literal blood, sweat
and tears into bringing the
high-risk, high-octane antics
of IMF agent Ethan Hunt to life
on the big screen for the past
23 years, admittedly a huge
fan of the original television
series growing up.
“To be able to turn it into
a feature film and to take it
from a Cold War series to this
modern day audience... it is
without a doubt one of the most
challenging films to produce,”
the actor explains.
Filming this latest instalment,
Cruise famously broke his foot
making a daring jump between
buildings (pictured). But ever the
true professional, he made sure
he nailed the take before seeking
medical attention. It’s dedication
like this that truly elevates the
movie and keeps audiences
coming back for more.
Having been entrusted with
the safe return of three stolen
plutonium cores in Berlin, Hunt
is soon thrust into a global game
of cat and mouse when they fall
into the hands of Solomon Lane’s
(Sean Harris) newly reformed
rogue terrorist group, now
known as the Apostles.
Henry Cavill joins the action as
CIA agent August Walker, who is
assigned to shadow – and keep
a watchful eye on – Hunt.
